history
The Boldecker Land (Boldeckerland) was a historical territory that consisted of the parish of Jembke and some surrounding villages. In 1517 jurisdiction fell in exchange to the Lords of Bartensleben , who were then owners of Wolfsburg Castle . With the abolition of patrimonial jurisdiction, it was incorporated into the Fallersleben Office in 1848 and into the Gifhorn district in 1885.
On the basis of the " Law for the reorganization of the municipalities in the Wolfsburg area ", the municipalities of Barwedel, Bokensdorf, Jembke, Osloß, Tappenbeck and Weyhausen voluntarily merged to form the Boldecker Land municipality on July 1, 1972.
