coat of arms

Blazon : “Divided obliquely to the left by blue and silver; above: a growing red armored silver lion below: a left-slanting blue wave brook forming a "W", accompanied by a left-slanting red heart. "

The lion and the heart, which are also included in the coats of arms of Lüneburg and the district of Lüneburg, are intended to illustrate the affiliation to the district and the administrative district of Lüneburg. The arrangement of the lion stands for the superior position of the government and the district towards the community. The wave brook in the coat of arms, drawn in the form of the first letter of the community name, symbolizes the Aller that meanders through the community. The heart represents the community as a heart of the administrative district and the district, in front of which the lion protects himself in an upright position.

The coat of arms was designed by the heraldist Heinz Bannier (* December 12, 1912, † August 26, 1999; he led the Lower Saxony coat of arms from 1983 to 1991).
