history
The place Tülau was founded by Wenden . The original village shape was that of a round . The place name comes from the Old Slavic tulû and means something like "quiver" or "place of the (warrior) quiver". Tülau was first mentioned in a document in 1546. The former district Fahrenhorst (originally Vahrenhorst ) emerged in the mid-16th century about half a kilometer south of Tülau, as the noble Fritz VII. Von der Schulenburg , the Burg Brome lost and a new Good build needed. In 1643 the von der Schulenburg lost the estate and it passed to the von Weyhe noble family from Lüneburg , who own it to this day. In 1737 the manor house that still exists today was built in Fahrenhorst. In 1830 a series of major fires began in Tülau and Fahrenhorst, which among other things destroyed the Rundling and lasted around 100 years. According to a settlement register from around 1850, there were around 18 farms at that time. During the administrative reform of 1859, the patrimonial court of Fahrenhorst including the former aristocratic court of Brome was attached to the office of Isenhagen .
In 1880 the 35 or so Baptists built a first church in Tülau. In 1909 the Wittingen – Oebisfelde railway was opened. The Tülau-Fahrenhorst station was around 1.5 kilometers east of the village. In 1930 the first Protestant church was inaugurated, which had been built on the property of the burned down parish hall; In 1964 a small tower in the shape of a ridge was built on it. There were 35 and 48 war casualties, respectively, in the First and Second World Wars. In the 1950s there was the Tülau Children's Home on Sonnenstrasse , a children's home that was moved to Gifhorn as the Gifhorn Children's Home in the 1960s .
In 1910, 672 people lived in Tülau-Fahrenhorst. By 1939 the number rose to 687; by 1950 it grew to 1,290 due to the influx of refugees. In 1984 the population was 874. In 1984 there were 30 farms there.
The municipality of Tülau-Fahrenhorst joined the joint municipality of Brome on July 1, 1965 . On March 1, 1974, it merged with the municipality of Voitze to form the municipality of Tülau, which became part of the newly founded joint municipality of Brome on March 15, 1974.
