Boris Babic (born November 10, 1997 in Walenstadt ) is a Swiss - Serbian football player who has been under contract with FC St. Gallen since 2017 .
Career
societies
Babic, who grew up in Walenstadt , played in his youth for FC Walenstadt, where his father was coach, FC Sargans and FC Grabs. He later moved to the youth department of FC St. Gallen and attended the United School of Sports, a training center of the Swiss Football Association . In July 2015, Babic was loaned to FC Biel-Bienne for half a year , where he made two appearances in the Challenge League .
After another year in the second team of FC St. Gallen, he switched to the professional team in the Super League in November 2016 . In the away game on December 10, 2016 against FC Basel (18th matchday), Babic made his debut in the 70th minute of the game when he came on for Alain Wiss . By the end of the season he had five missions. After playing for FC St. Gallen in the new 2017/18 season , he was loaned to FC Vaduz in March 2018 , with whom he won the Liechtenstein Cup . In June 2018, the loan business was extended for another season until July 2019.
National team
Babic played for the Swiss national team (U-15) for the first time at the age of 14. With the U-17 he took part in the 2014 U-17 European Championship in Malta . Babic scored the only goal for Switzerland in the 1-1 final against Germany . This was followed by two defeats against Portugal and Scotland , with which they failed as fourth-placed team in the group stage.
He has been a U-20 national player since 2017 . He made his debut in a friendly against Poland on August 31, 2017 .
