course

The broth rises in the northeastern foothills of the Rothaargebirge . Its source is in the Sauerland-Rothaargebirge nature park around 2.8 km (as the crow flies ) north-northeast of the center of Medebach's town center and 150 m west of the state road  854, which runs south from Oberschledorn past the Langeln and Hooren farms and then on to the L 617 ( Hillershausen –Medebach– Medelon ) leads. It is located between the wooded elevations Winterkopf ( 524.9  m ) in the southwest and Valshagenberg ( 504.8  m ) in the east at around 465  m above sea level. NHN .

Initially, the Brühne, which runs entirely in the Sauerland-Rothaargebirge Nature Park and in the agricultural area along the Aarstruth forest to the east , crosses under the L 854, then passes Hooren to the east and then crosses under the L 617 in a south-easterly direction. Then the Harbecke, which comes from the direction of Medebach, joins the creek, which from then on flows southwards . From now on, the Brühne runs east parallel to the Medebach , which runs along the L 740 that runs from Medebach to the Westphalian - North Hessian border near Münden , and also parallel to the Wilden Aa , a little further east ; both are also Orke tributaries.

A little further south , shortly after crossing under the L 740, below the Polter and Niedermühle near the Orke, near the Orke kilometer 18.45 at around 347  m above sea level, the Eder tributary Orke coming from the north-west ; The Medebach- Berge sewage treatment plant is located opposite its mouth to the south and thus beyond the Orke .
