Brent Omar Grimes (born on 19th July 1983 in Philadelphia , Pennsylvania is) a former US American football poker players on the position of the cornerbacks . He played college football for Shippensburg University and was accepted as an undrafted free agent by the Atlanta Falcons in 2006. Before he was used for the Falcons in the National Football League , he was loaned to the Hamburg Sea Devils in the NFL Europe for a year . Upon his return, he played for Atlanta until 2012 and then for the Miami Dolphins until 2015 . From 2016 to 2018 he was under contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers .
NFL
Atlanta Falcons
On May 16, 2006, the Atlanta Falcons took Grimes as an undrafted free agent. However, he was injured during the training camp and was released. In January 2007 they engaged him again and awarded him to the NFL Europe . There he was initially deported to the Rhein Fire by the Amsterdam Admirals before he ended up with the Hamburg Sea Devils . There he was an important part of the defense and won the World Bowl (XV) with the team , where Frankfurt Galaxy could be defeated.
Back in Atlanta he managed to fight for a place in the roster of the Falcons and he was mainly used in the special teams in 2007 and 2008 . In 2009 he made his breakthrough as a cornerback when he scored 66 tackles and six interceptions . In 2010 he was named "NFC Defensive Player of the Week" on the 15th matchday after the game against the Seattle Seahawks after he had three tackles, defended five passes and managed an interception. After the season he was elected to his first Pro Bowl . He struggled with many injuries over the next two years and did not get a new contract from the Falcons after an Achilles tendon rupture that had missed the entire 2012 season.
Miami Dolphins
After Grimes as a free agent with the Cleveland Browns and Miami Dolphins had played, he signed on 30 March 2013, present a one-year contract over 5.5 million US dollars for the Dolphins. He was hired as a veteran who would lead and direct rookie cornerbacks Will Davis and Jamar Taylor and was considered a key player on the defensive of Miami. He made a strong comeback after his long injury and Pro Football Focus voted him the second best cornerback of the 2013 season and he received his second invitation to the Pro Bowl .
