Released versions

In addition to the first publication on LP , various equipment variants were and are offered on the CD :

  • In 1993 Sony Music released two publications on CD as part of the Mastersound series , the recordings being digitally revised using the Super Bit Mapping process (SBM) and a 24-carat gold coating instead of the aluminum layer. There are two versions of this series: a Limited Edition in a storage box that can be opened to the side in an elongated book shape with a glued-in and enlarged booklet and a Collector's Edition in which the CD case is kept in a cardboard slipcase. The front of the slipcase has a semicircular cut-out the size of a CD, through which the gold layer of the sound carrier is visible.
  • In the Spiegel Edition - The Vinyl Classics series , the album was also released as a black CD with a vinyl groove look on the label side, the CD case is in a gray cardboard slipcase with a punched window.
  • The album is also available in CD boxes with the coupling of one or two other Simon & Garfunkel albums.
  • In 2001 the CD was released in a remastered sound with the demo versions of Feuilles-O and Bridge over Troubled Water as bonus tracks.
  • In 2011 a 40th Anniversary Edition of the album was released as a double CD. On CD 1 you can find the album in a remastered sound, but without the bonus tracks released in 2001. CD 2 contains the album Live 1969 . A limited edition also includes a bonus DVD with the TV special Songs of America from 1969 as well as a documentary about the creation of the album.
