Postage stamps from 1902 issued by the Deutsche Reichspost
The 1902 stamp year of the Deutsche Reichspost comprised fifteen stamps. Ten definitive stamps from the Germania series and five stamps from the Representative Representations of the German Empire series with five stamps with four motifs (in the current year 1902 the design of the stamp was slightly changed to 2 marks).
As a definitive stamp series, the five lower values of Germania were also used on postal stationery as a value stamp for postcards , card letters and pneumatic mail envelopes .
Before the stamps with the inscription Deutsches Reich there were the series with the inscription Reichspost , these were valid until December 31, 1902.
Notes: The fees for the mail between January 1, 1875 and June 30, 1906 were:
- Postcards: 5 pfennigs
- Long-distance letters: 10 pfennigs (up to 20 g) and 20 pfennigs (up to 250 g)
- Registered mail: 20 pfennigs
- Return receipt: 20 pfennigs
