Reich President
Reich President was a permanent series of stamps issued by the Deutsche Reichspost , which was published between September 1, 1928 and January 1932. The stamps show, mostly alternately, the first Reich President Friedrich Ebert and his successor in office, Paul von Hindenburg .
Issue dates and validity
The stamps were made in the letterpress process on coated paper with the watermark 2 waffles , the comb perforation is 14:14 1/4. There is no reliable information on the circulation of definitive stamps.
The first 13 values (7 × Ebert, 6 × Hindenburg) appeared on September 1, 1928 . The first three supplementary values (2 × Ebert, 1 × Hindenburg) in early 1930 . On June 30, 1930, two special editions appeared with the date imprinted on the withdrawal of the Allied occupation from the Rhineland. Another supplementary value appeared on February 15, 1931 (motif: Hindenburg). The last two values appeared in January 1932 .
The Ebert stamps and the two special stamps for the liberation of the Rhineland were valid until June 30, 1934, the Hindenburg stamps until December 31, 1935. The successor series Hindenburg medallion was issued on October 1, 1932 .
