Germania as a pressure to turn

The postage stamp year 1920 of the Deutsche Reichspost comprised 41  definitive stamps and 49  official stamps for the postal traffic of authorities and offices. There is no reliable information on the circulation of the stamps.

On April 1, 1920, Bavaria entered the Reichspostgebiet while renouncing its own postal sovereignty. The Pfalz time also belonged to Bavaria. Therefore, the Bavarian brands with the imprint German Empire were valid throughout the entire Reich.

DR 1920 145 Germania comparison.jpg
Comparison of the two partial series Germania

Remarks

  1. The following number 139 was not issued
  2. a b c d e The 30, 40, 50, 75 and 80 Pfennig values were printed partly from one plate and partly from 2 plates (frame on the one hand and Germania, value and "Deutsches Reich" on the other). With 2 different plates, as well as with the two-tone market values, there were mostly small register shifts , which can be recognized by these. Compare the picture above.
  3. From July 1st, 1920, these stamps could also be used by authorities outside Prussia
