10 years of the German Society for Goldsmithing

The 1942 postage stamps issued by the Deutsche Reichspost comprised 15  special stamps , all of which except for one had a surcharge . In order to save costs, two pfennig values of the permanent series "Adolf Hitler" were issued in a different printing process; there were also four Reichsmark values in a larger format. There is no reliable information about the number of copies of the stamps . As usual, the first three stamps issued between January and April were only valid for postage until the end of the year. Due to the war, the Reich Ministry of Post then decided that all subsequent stamps would remain valid until further notice . The stamps were therefore valid until the surrender in May 1945 .
