Buch is a district of Neuhaus-Schierschnitz in the municipality of Föritztal in the district of Sonneberg in Thuringia .

Buch is a loosened heap settlement in the southeast of the municipality, east of the federal highway 89 in a cropped corridor. To the east there is a forest area and the border with Bavaria .
history
The village was first mentioned in a document on January 23, 1355. In 1923, Buch was merged with the neighboring towns of Gessendorf , Mark , Neuhaus and Schierschnitz to form the Neuhaus-Schierschnitz community . On July 6, 2018, this community was merged with the communities of Föritz and Judenbach to form the new community of Föritztal.
