Jagdshof is located southeast of Judenbach on the southern slope of the Jagdsthofer mountain, 689 meters above sea level, in the Franconian Forest . With the Kreisstraße 1, which has a connection to the Landesstraße 2661 , the place is connected to the traffic.

history

The village was first mentioned in documents in 1340.

In the agricultural town there was still a lack of permanent employment opportunities for the winter in the late 19th century, a Kronach entrepreneur Carl Kochniss noticed this and set up a mask manufacture, which he exported carnival and seasonal items to the Cologne area with great success .

On July 1, 1950, the previously independent community of Mönchsberg was incorporated into Jagdshof. Jagdshof had been a district of Judenbach since July 1, 1994 and merged with it on July 6, 2018 in the new Föritztal community.
