The Castle Castle Hill , also called tower , the ruins of a moated castle in the village of Castle Hill, in the municipality of Königsfeld in the Black Forest in Schwarzwald-Baar in Baden-Wuerttemberg . It is located at around 695 meters above sea level.
history
The moated castle, already mentioned in 1116, was built by the Lords of Burgberg and expanded in the 13th century. It served as a prison for Bärenberg Castle (Weiberzahn) and Waldau Castle . The castle later went to the House of Württemberg and was destroyed in the Thirty Years' War .
investment
A considerable part of the square 15 meter high keep made of humpback ashlar masonry with a high entrance 6 meters high and some remains of the wall are still preserved from the former castle complex. The castle rest is surrounded by houses and is privately owned.
