The 2009/10 season was the third season of the Canadian Women's Hockey League (CWHL), the top Canadian division in women's ice hockey in the provinces of Ontario and Quebec . The Stars de Montréal won the regular season of the CWHL and thus qualified for the final tournament - with two other CWHL and one WWHL participants - for the Clarkson Cup .
Due to the hosting of the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver , Canada , a large part of the season took place without the top domestic players from previous years, as they were in a separate preparation program for the Olympic ice hockey tournament with the Canadian ice hockey association Hockey Canada .
Attendees
The same six teams from the provinces of Ontario and Québec participated in the third edition of the CWHL as in the previous season.
