The 2018/19 season was the twelfth and final season of the Canadian Women's Hockey League (CWHL), the top Canadian division in women's ice hockey . Calgary Inferno won the regular season of the CWHL and triumphed for the second time in the club's history in the final of the Clarkson Cup . After the end of the play-offs, the league announced the end of the game for financial reasons.
Attendees
Before the 2018/19 season, the Vanke Rays founded in 2017 were dissolved or merged with the Kunlun Red Star women's team . The resulting team continued to participate in the CWHL under the name of Shenzhen KRS Vanke Rays . In addition, the Boston Blades moved from Boston to Worcester in the summer of 2018 .

CWHL Draft
On August 26, 2018, the CWHL carried out a draft for women players. The draft was carried out in Toronto . First and foremost, Lauren Williams (University of Wisconsin-Madison) was selected by the Worcester Blades . In total, the six teams secured the rights to 67 players in 14 rounds.

The 2019 Clarkson Cup was the ninth edition of the competition of the same name , in which four representatives of the Canadian Women's Hockey League participated. The competition was held in play-off mode at different venues. The finale was on March 24, 2019 for the second time in the Coca-Cola Coliseum in Toronto in the province of Ontario played.
The Calgary Inferno won the second Clarkson Cup in their club history by beating Les Canadiennes de Montréal 5-2 .

The four participants in the play-offs did not play the knockout round ( best-of-three ) on the same weekend as the final, but on match dates before. The final was decided in a single game.
