The 2010/11 season was the fourth season of the Canadian Women's Hockey League (CWHL), the highest Canadian division in women's ice hockey in the provinces of Ontario and Québec . The Stars de Montréal won the regular season of the CWHL and thus qualified for the final tournament - with two other CWHL and one WWHL participants - for the Clarkson Cup .
Attendees
In the summer of 2010, the Vaughan Flames and the Ottawa Lady Senators stopped playing their women's teams , but continued to work with young talent. The Boston Blades were added as a new franchise, expanding the previously purely Canadian league to the United States. The Mississauga Chiefs also reverted to their original name, Toronto Eros .
A total of five teams took part in the fourth edition of the CWHL, three from the province of Ontario and one each from Québec and the United States.

CWHL Draft
On August 12, 2010, the CWHL carried out a draft for players from the Greater Toronto Area for the first time in order to standardize the playing level of the three teams from this region. Only the Brampton Thunder, Burlington Barracudas and the Toronto Eros took part in the actual draft, while the other two teams in the league were only able to protect 5 players from their squad from being selected by another team and used the event to announce their provisional squads. The event was held at the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto . In the first place Tessa Bonhomme was selected by the Toronto Eros , in total the three teams secured the rights to 101 players.
