The 1965 Cadre 71/2 World Championship was the 13th Cadre 71/2 World Championship. The tournament took place from April 21 to 25, 1965 in Huelva , southern Spain . It was the first Cadre 71/2 World Championship in Spain.
history
Many participants, apart from the Spaniards, could not show their achievements in the Cadre 71/2 European Championship and only ten days after the energy-sapping world championship in the pentathlon in Antwerp. Due to the high temperatures in Huelva, the health-stricken German participant Siegfried Spielmann in particular had to fight. The winner of the tournament was surprisingly the gang specialist Johann Scherz from Austria. The best performance of the tournament was shown by the runner-up Henk Scholte from the Netherlands. The third-placed Spaniard José Gálvez was given honorary citizenship before the tournament in his hometown.
Tournament mode
A final round in the round robin system up to 300 points was played. In the event of a tie in the MPs, the following order is taken:
- MP = match points
- GD = general average
- HS = maximum series
