Carl Croneiß (born January 9, 1891 in Bad Dürkheim , † July 31, 1973 in Nuremberg ) was a German military and National Socialist politician.

Life

After attending elementary school and grammar school , which he in 1911 with the high school left, he joined as a cadet in the Infantry Regiment "Prince Carl" (fourth Grand Ducal Hessian) no. 118 in Worms one. He was later trained at the Kassel War School. In 1912 he received the officer's license that was issued for 1910. Croneiß was later transferred to the 8th Rhenish Infantry Regiment No. 70 in Saarbrücken , with whom he took part in the First World War from 1914 . First Croneiß fought on the Western Front before he was transferred to the air force in autumn 1914 . After completing his pilot training, he was promoted to first lieutenant in 1915 and assigned to Feldfliegerabteilung 4b in Vitry and Feldfliegerabteilung 24 in Lille . In autumn 1915 Croneiß was assigned to the German military mission in Constantinople . He spent the following war years as a pilot in the Ottoman air force , first as the imperial Ottoman captain of the Turkish Air Force Chernahevicz, and later with Field Air Force Department 1 Dardanelles. In 1916 he was assigned to Field Aviation Division 2 Irac, Baghdad and Persia. In 1918 he became the commander of the Turkish Aviation School San Stefano near Constantinople.

In 1919 his command in Turkey was lifted. He returned to Germany, where he was retired from the army in 1920 with the rank of captain. During the war, Croneiß was awarded the Iron Cross of both classes, the Oldenburg Friedrich-August Cross of both classes, the Knight's Cross of the Albrecht Order with Swords, the Hessian Medal of Bravery , the Austrian Military Merit Cross III. Awarded swords, the Ottoman Imtiaz and Liakat Medal , the Mecidiye Order , the Iron Crescent , the Wound Badge in Black and the Pilot Badge .

From 1920, Croneiß was active in circles of the extreme political right. He became a member of a resident army , then one after the other of the Reichsflagge and Wehrwolf , in which he appeared as a shock troop leader. Since 1924 Croneiß worked as a sport flight instructor at "Sportflug GmbH for Middle Franconia and Upper Palatinate" in Fürth. In 1926 he became technical director of Deutsche Verkehrsflug AG , which he had founded with his brother Theodor Croneiß .

Around 1930 Croneiß joined the Sturmabteilung (SA). In 1932 he became storm leader of the SA group Franconia. In 1933, as pilot captain, he became head of the pilot training station in Nuremberg. In 1937, as NSFK group leader , he became leader of Group 13 of the NSFK Nuremberg.

From April 1938 to spring 1945, Croneiß sat on the Reich election proposal in the Reichstag (time of National Socialism) .
