Castignano

Castignano (in the local dialect: Castëgnà ) is an Italian municipality ( comune ) with 2682 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Ascoli Piceno in Marche . The municipality is located about 9.5 kilometers north-northeast of Ascoli Piceno and borders directly on the province of Teramo . Castignano is part of the Comunità Montana del Tronto . The Tesino forms the northeastern border of the municipality.
