Cossignano is an Italian municipality ( comune ) with 900 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Ascoli Piceno in Marche . The municipality is located about 16.5 kilometers northeast of Ascoli Piceno . The Tesino forms the southern municipal boundary .

history

A Picenian settlement already existed in ancient times on the site of today's Cossignano . It was conquered by the Romans in 268 BC. It was named as fundus Cossinianus .
