Folignano (in the local dialect: Fijagnà ) is an Italian municipality ( comune ) with 9082 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Ascoli Piceno in Marche . The municipality is about 5.5 kilometers southeast of Ascoli Piceno and borders directly on the province of Teramo . Folignano is bordered by the Abruzzo mountain ranges . The Adriatic Sea is 35 kilometers to the east. The Tronto flows north of the municipality .
