Center Hill is a city in Sumter County in the US state of Florida with 988 inhabitants (as of 2010).

Center Hill is about 10 km east of Bushnell and about 60 km west of Orlando .
history
In the 1920s, the Seaboard Coast Line Railroad built a railway line from Plant City via Center Hill to Coleman , which was shut down again in 1988 shortly after the takeover by CSX .
Demographic data
According to the 2010 census, the then 988 inhabitants were distributed over 415 households. The population density was 224.5 inhabitants / km². 66.4% of the population identified themselves as whites, 8.9% as African American , 1.0% as Indians and 0.5% as Asian Americans . 19.3% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 3.8% to several ethnic groups. 36.9% of the population were Hispanics or Latinos .
In 2010, children under the age of 18 lived in 42.4% of all households and persons aged at least 65 were living in 31.0% of all households. 79.7% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 3.13 people and the average family size was 3.48 people.
35.7% of the population were younger than 20 years old, 19.5% were 20 to 39 years old, 19.3% were 40 to 59 years old, and 19.8% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 31 years. 50.5% of the population were male and 49.5% were female.
The median annual income was $ 32,401, with 40.5% of the population living below the poverty line.
In 2000, English was the first language of 68.90% of the population and 31.10% spoke Spanish .

The crime rate in 2010 was 161 points (US average: 266 points) in the low range. There was one rape, three assaults, three break-ins and three thefts.
