Centralwings was a Polish charter airline. It operated as a Polish low-cost airline based in Warsaw until October 2008 and as a charter airline until March 2009. It was a subsidiary of LOT and operated with the Boeing 737-300 and the larger Boeing 737-400 . The home base was Warsaw Airport .

history

The airline was founded in December 2004 and started operations in February 2005. Due to financial problems, Centralwings discontinued the low-cost scheduled connections in mid-September 2008 and now concentrated more on charter flights. On March 26, 2009 LOT announced the dissolution of the company. The last flight took place on May 31, 2009 and on June 9, 2009 the bankruptcy was announced in the Warsaw court.

Destinations

The airline was based in Warsaw. As a low-cost airline, European destinations were offered from Wroclaw , Gdansk , Łódź , Krakow , Szczecin and Katowice . The destinations included Girona , Lisbon , Rome , Rhodes , Bologna , Dubrovnik , Cork, Faro, Lille, Grenoble, Edinburgh, Dublin and London Gatwick Airport . In Germany, flights to Cologne , Hanover and Nuremberg were offered in 2006 , but these were abandoned due to low demand. Between October 2008 and May 2009 charter destinations were flown to on behalf of the Polskie Linie Lotnicze .
