Cervinara is an Italian municipality with 9300 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Avellino .

The municipality is located at about 282  m slm in the Campania region . The administrative center of the province in Avellino is about twenty kilometers southeast of Cervinara. The neighboring communities are Avella , Montesarchio ( BN ), Roccarainola ( NA ), Rotondi and San Martino Valle Caudina .

South of the city is the regional park of the Partenio (Parco regional del Partenio) with a mountain range that makes Cervinara inaccessible from the south.
