Salza Irpina is an Italian municipality in the southeast in the Campania region , approx. 15 km southeast of the provincial capital Avellino with 741 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019). The place is part of the mountain commune Comunità Montana Terminio Cervialto .

Salza is in the Irpinia region . The neighboring municipalities are: Chiusano di San Domenico , Parolise , San Potito Ultra , Sorbo Serpico , Volturara Irpina .
After Salza suffered severe damage during the great earthquake of November 23, 1980 , parts of the town were rebuilt in a modern way. A piazza was built in front of the church, where a festival in honor of the Madonna delle Neve is held every September.

The Salza Irpina station to the west of the village is on the Avellino – Rocchetta Sant'Antonio railway line, which is no longer used for passenger transport .
