Chalinargues ( Occitan : Chinargues ) is a former French community with 401 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Cantal in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It belonged to the Arrondissement of Saint-Flour and the Canton of Murat .
With effect from December 1, 2016, the former municipalities of Neussargues-Moissac , Celles , Chalinargues , Chavagnac and Sainte-Anastasie were merged into a commune nouvelle with the name Neussargues en Pinatelle .
geography
Chalinargues is located around 18 kilometers northwest of the small town of Saint-Flour on the southern edge of the Volcans d'Auvergne Regional Nature Park . It belongs to the Cézallier Mountains . The most important traffic connection is the national route 122 . The nearest train station is in Neussargues.
Chalinargues is surrounded by the neighboring towns of Allanche in the north, Sainte-Anastasie in the east, Neussargues-Moissac in the south-east, Celles in the south, Virargues in the south-west, Chavagnac in the west and Vernols in the north-west.
