Charles "Charlie" Joiner Jr. (born October 14, 1947 in Many , Louisiana ) is a retired American football player who played eighteen seasons as a wide receiver in the National Football League (NFL). He was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1996 .

Joiner graduated from Grambling State University in 1969 and was selected in the fourth round of the AFL Draft by the Houston Oilers , where he played until 1972.

He was then signed by the Cincinnati Bengals , where he played from 1972 to 1975. The next stop in his career was the San Diego Chargers , where he moved in 1975. He spent eleven years in San Diego and ended his professional career in 1986.

His time with the San Diego Chargers under coach Don Coryell was his most successful: He was elected to the Pro Bowl three times . At the end of his career, he held the record for the most pass catches (750) in NFL history.

Charles Joiner worked as a trainer for wide receivers until 2012. First he worked for the Kansas City Chiefs , since 2008 he worked again for the Chargers.
