Charlottenthal , in Polish Klekotna , is a town in Upper Silesia . Charlottenthal is located in the municipality of Guttentag in the powiat Oleski (Rosenberg district) in the Polish Voivodeship of Opole .

history

The place was founded as a colony in 1755. In 1783 the colony had eleven colonist positions and 30 residents and belonged to a Lord Count von Sobek.

In the referendum in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921, 53 eligible voters voted to remain with Germany and 106 for Poland. Charlottenthal remained with the German Empire . In 1933 there were 333 inhabitants. In 1939 the place had 328 inhabitants. Until 1945 the place was in the district of Loben .

In 1945 the previously German place came under Polish administration and was renamed Klekotna and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950 the place came to the Opole Voivodeship . From 1975 to 1998 the place was in the Czestochowa Voivodeship . In 1999 the place came to the Opole Voivodeship and Powiat Oleski . On July 4, 2008, the place was also given the official German place name Charlottenthal .
