Wilhelmshort , in Polish Bzinica Nowa , is a village in Upper Silesia . Wilhelmshort is located about five kilometers south-southeast of the main town Guttentag in the powiat Oleski in the Polish Voivodeship of Opole .

history

In 1904 the descendants of Bohemian religious refugees from Friedrichsgrätz founded the place.

In Friedrichsgrätz all farms were taken and the yield from the fields was not sufficient for the growing number of residents. The then pastor Kmet was looking for land and was able to arrange the sale of land with Gut Bzinitz . Since there were problems with the financing, 200 hectares were offered in sacks. Friedrich Karliczek, Karl Karliczek, Karel Pospisil and Josef Sivek each acquired between 30 and 40 hectares of land. They also made loans to other colonists so the sale came about. The colonists from Friedrichgrätz included the Kratochwil, Maly, Mundil and Streletz families.

In autumn 1904 the clearing of the forest and the construction of the place began. 63 farms were created.

In the following years a cemetery with a small chapel was set up, a school was built and a shop was opened.

In the referendum in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921, 99 eligible voters voted to remain with Germany and three for Poland. Wilhelmshort remained with the German Empire . In 1933 there were 230 inhabitants. In 1939 the place had 262 inhabitants. Until 1945 the place was in the district of Loben (meanwhile in the district of Guttentag).

In 1945 the previously German place came under Polish administration and was renamed Nowa Bzinica and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950 the place came to the Opole Voivodeship . From 1975 to 1998 the place was in the Czestochowa Voivodeship . In 1999 the place came to the Opole Voivodeship and Powiat Oleski . On January 1, 2007, the place was renamed Bzinica Nowa . On July 4, 2008, the place was also given the official German place name Wilhelmshort .
