On May 5, 2010 Kalas debuted at the age of 16 years, 11 months and 20 days in the 2-0 victory Sigmas against Slovan Liberec over the full playing time in the Gambrinus League .

In the summer of 2010, Kalas was signed by Chelsea and loaned for a year to his previous club Sigma Olmütz, where he should continue to collect match practice. After a 14-day stay during the winter break of the 2010/11 season, Chelsea FC decided to bring Kalas back to London in January 2011. In August 2011 he was loaned to the Dutch honorary division Vitesse Arnheim .

For the 2013/14 season he will return to José Mourinho's team. On April 27, 2014, he made his full-time debut in the Premier League in a 2-0 win against Liverpool FC .
