Kotzuren (Polish: Kocury ) is a village in Upper Silesia . It is located in the municipality of Guttentag in the powiat Oleski (district of Rosenberg OS) in the Opole Voivodeship .

history

For a long time Kotzuren was an insignificant place and belonged as a hamlet to the village of Schemrowitz .

After the referendum in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921, Kotzuren remained with the German Reich . In 1936 the place was renamed Birkental in the course of a wave of renaming of places during the Nazi era . Until 1945 the place was in the district of Loben (meanwhile in the district of Guttentag).

In 1945 the previously German town came under Polish administration and was then attached to the Silesian Voivodeship and renamed the Polish Kocury . In 1950 the place came to the Opole Voivodeship . From 1975 to 1998 the place was in the Voivodeship Częstochowa (Czestochowa). In 1999 the place came to the Opole Voivodeship and the re-established Powiat Oleski . On July 4, 2008, the place was also given the official German place name Kotzuren .
