Zwoos (Polish: Zwóz ) is a hamlet belonging to the village of Glowtschütz in Upper Silesia .

Zwoos is located in the municipality of Guttentag ( Dobrodzień ) in the powiat Oleski (Rosenberg OS district) in the Polish Opole Voivodeship .

history
In the Topographical Handbook of Upper Silesia from 1865, Zwoos and the place Rendzin are mentioned as belonging together under the name Zwoos-Rendzin. Together, both places had eight free farmers, nine outdoor gardeners and ten cottagers.
In the referendum in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921, 27 eligible voters voted to remain with Germany and 83 for Poland, in the manor district of Zwoos 79 people voted for Germany and 40 people for Poland. Zwoos stayed with the German Empire . In 1933 there were 282 inhabitants. On July 22, 1936, the place was renamed Ahndorf / Upper Silesia . In 1939 the place had 266 inhabitants. Until 1945 the place was in the district of Loben (meanwhile in the district of Guttentag).
In 1945 the previously German place came under Polish administration and was renamed Zwóz and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950 the place came to the Opole Voivodeship . From 1975 to 1998 the place was in the Częstochowa Voivodeship . In 1999 the place came to the Opole Voivodeship and Powiat Oleski . On July 4, 2008, the place was given an official German place name, but instead of Zwoos, the name Zwoss was incorrectly entered. On May 13, 2009 , German was introduced as the second official language in the community of Guttentag , which Zwoos belongs to. In 2012, the community of Guttentag requested a change of the German name to Zwoos .
