Glowtschütz , Polish Główczyce , is a village in Upper Silesia . Glowtschütz is located in the municipality of Guttentag in the powiat Oleski in the Polish Opole Voivodeship .
history
In the referendum in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921, 52 eligible voters voted to remain with Germany and 89 for Poland, in the Glowtschütz manor district 50 people voted for Germany and 19 people for Poland. Glowtschütz remained with the German Empire . In 1933 there were 286 inhabitants. On July 22, 1936, the place was renamed Eichwege . In 1939 the place had 312 inhabitants. Until 1945 the place was in the district of Loben (meanwhile in the district of Guttentag).
In 1945 the previously German place came under Polish administration and was renamed Główczyce and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950 the place came to the Opole Voivodeship . From 1975 to 1998 the place was in the Częstochowa Voivodeship . In 1999 the place came to the Opole Voivodeship and Powiat Oleski . On July 4, 2008, the place was also given the official German place name Glowtschütz .
