Cheryl Maas (born September 28, 1984 in Uden ) is a Dutch snowboarder . She starts in the freestyle disciplines.

Career

Maas has been participating in the Ticket to Ride World Snowboard Tour competitions since 2004 . She reached her first podium finish in the 2005/06 season with third place in slopestyle at the Roxy Chicken Jam USA in Park City . She drove her first FIS World Cup race in September 2005 in Valle Nevado , which she finished in 31st place on the halfpipe . In January 2006, she won third place on the halfpipe and second place in slopestyle at the Burton European Open in Laax . At her first Olympic participation in Turin in 2006 , she finished 11th on the halfpipe. In April 2006 she won the Slopestyle at the Roxy Chicken Jam in St. Moritz . She finished the season in first place in the World Snowboard Tour overall ranking. At the beginning of the following season, she took second place in slopestyle at the Roxy Chicken Jam in Kaprun . Further top ten placements followed in the season. In the overall tour ranking she came in third place. In December 2007 she won the Slopestyle at the Roxy Chicken Jam in Kaprun. In the 2009/10 season she took second place in slopestyle at the Horsefeathers Pleasure Jam in Schladming and at the Roxy Chicken Jam Europe in Saalbach . At the Winter Dew Tour in Breckenridge in December 2010, she reached third place in slopestyle. In February 2012, she came fourth in slopestyle at the Snowboard World Championships in Oslo . In the same month she took second place in the Slopestyle at the Roxy Snow Pro 2012 in Saalbach . At the beginning of the 2013/14 season, she took third place in the Slopestyle at the FIS World Cup race in Cardrona , making her first World Cup podium. This was followed by a second place in slopestyle at the Snowboard Jamboree and FIS World Cup races in Stoneham and a second place in the Big Air competition at the Community Cup in Keystone . At the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi , she took 20th place in slopestyle. She finished the season in third place in the FIS freestyle ranking and second in the slopestyle ranking. In December 2014 she took third place in the Big Air competition at the FIS World Cup race in Istanbul . Her first World Cup victories were in Big Air and Slopestyle in Stoneham and in Slopestyle in Park City in February 2015 . At the last FIS World Cup race of the 2014/15 season in Špindlerův Mlýn she won again in slopestyle and finished the season in first place in the Big Air classification, the Slopestyle classification and the Freestyle World Cup . In January 2016, she took eighth place in slopestyle at the 2016 Winter X Games in Aspen . At the X-Games Oslo 2016 in Oslo, she won the gold medal in the Big Air competition. In March 2016, she finished third in slopestyle at the Burton US Open in Vail . In the 2016/17 season she was among the first five times in the World Cup and thus reached 15th place in the Freestyle World Cup. At the Winter-X-Games 2017 she was seventh in Big Air and in Slopestyle and at the X-Games Norway 2017 in Hafjell seventh in Slopestyle and fourth in Big Air. At the Snowboard World Championships 2017 in Sierra Nevada she came seventh Place in the Big Air competition.
