Christian Sievers

Christian Sievers (* 1969 in Offenbach am Main ) is a German journalist and television presenter .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1989, Sievers studied law in Berlin and Freiburg im Breisgau . During his studies from 1989 to 1991 he worked as a reporter at RIAS Berlin (1989–1991) and was a presenter and reporter for Südwestfunk in Freiburg (1991–1993) and presenter and editor at SWF3 in Baden-Baden (1993–1996). In 1995 he passed the first state examination in law . As a scholarship holder of the Carl Duisberg Society Sievers worked in the United States in 1996/1997 at ABC-TV in New Haven , Connecticut.

Christian Sievers has been a presenter and editor for the Second German Television since 1997 . From 1998 to 2000 he was a presenter and editor for the programs today , today noon and TOP 7 . From 1997 to 2009 Sievers also presented the ZDF morning magazine there .

In 2008 and 2009 Sievers presented the projections and election results of the research group Elections as the successor of Steffen Seibert as part of the election reporting of the ZDF at the side of Bettina Schausten .

Sievers reported as a reporter for ZDF, among others, from Israel , Kosovo and Bosnia and was on site as a live reporter on current events, such as the terrorist attacks on September 11 and the 2006 tsunami disaster in Southeast Asia .

From October 2009 to August 2014 Sievers was head of the ZDF foreign studio in Tel Aviv . In January 2013, he replaced Maybrit Illner as a presenter at ZDF heute-journal , before moving to the ZDF broadcasting center in Mainz , where he has been the presenter of today's main edition at 7 p.m. since September 8, 2014 as the successor to Matthias Fornoff .
