Christoph Karl Friedrich von Bardeleben (born September 23, 1727 in Zielenzig , † September 25, 1798 in Rothsürben ) was a Prussian major general and chief of the 2nd artillery regiment.

Life

origin

His parents were Hans Christoph von Bardeleben (* September 23, 1687; † December 24, 1731), Herr auf Selchow and captain of the White Grenadier Guard, and his wife Luise Elise, born von Bredow (1698–1762). She was a daughter of Major General Kuno Ernst von Bredow .

Military career

Bardeleben came to Berlin as a cadet on May 11, 1743 and became a bombardier in the artillery of the Prussian Army on December 17, 1748 . On May 27, 1751 he became second lieutenant in the 1st battalion. During the Seven Years' War he took part in the battles of Lobositz , Prague , Torgau and the sieges of Olomouc and Schweidnitz . In the meantime, Bardeleben had been promoted to Premier Lieutenant on September 23, 1758, and to Captain on December 27, 1761, and appointed company commander.

After the war he became major on September 17, 1772 and took part in the War of the Bavarian Succession in 1778/79 . Then on January 1, 1785 he was appointed commander of the 3rd Artillery Regiment and a day later he was promoted to lieutenant colonel . On June 6, 1786 he was already colonel and on August 2, 1787 chief of the 2nd artillery regiment. On August 11, 1790, he was promoted to major general. Since Bardeleben was negligent in the distribution of the ammunition transports, a court martial sentenced him on September 9, 1794 to a four-week arrest . On December 28, 1794 he received his resignation with a pension of 1000 thalers . He died on September 25, 1798 on Rothsürben in the Breslau district.

family

Bardeleben was married twice. He married Dorothea Henriette Leopoldine von Krosigk in 1763 (* January 6, 1734 - † July 18, 1777). The couple had the following children:

  • Friedrich Wilhelm (born November 26, 1765 - † October 14, 1773)
  • Karl Friedrich Heinrich Leopold (born November 14, 1766 - † September 10, 1820), retired captain. D.
  • Henriette Christiane Ehrengard Emilie (born January 22, 1769; † December 7, 1844) ∞ Friedrich Erhard von Röder , general of the cavalry
  • Charlotte Luise Wilhelmine (born August 9, 1770) ∞ Karl Pfendner von Merkatz (1759–1823), Prussian major general

On June 6, 1779 he married Dorothea Sophie Christina von Randow (* September 9, 1733; † March 20, 1792). The marriage remained childless.
