Charles J. "Chuck" Stevenson (born October 15, 1919 in Sidney , Montana , † August 21, 1995 in Benson , Arizona ) was an American racing driver .

Career

Chuck Stevenson started 53 times between 1949 and 1965 in the AAA National Series and the subsequent USAC Series championship . He celebrated four wins, two of them in 1952 when he won the championship. He was also at the start nine times in the Indianapolis 500 . He celebrated three of his four AAA victories on the Milwaukee Mile in Wisconsin .

He took part in NASCAR races twice. In 1956 he was victorious in Willow Springs. Along with Jamie McMurray, he is one of the few drivers who was victorious on their second start.

Since the 500 miles from Indianapolis belonged to the Formula 1 World Championship from 1950 to 1960 , Stevenson has five races in the statistics; He couldn't score any points.
