Location of the association of municipalities in the Normandy region

The Communauté d'agglomération Lisieux Normandy is a French association of municipalities with the legal form of a Communauté d'agglomération in the department of Calvados in the region of Normandy . It was founded on December 2, 2016 and comprises 53 municipalities (as of January 1, 2019). The administrative headquarters are in the city of Lisieux .

Historical development

The community association was created with effect from January 1, 2017 through the merger of the predecessor organizations

• Lintercom Lisieux-Pays d'Auge-Normandie ,
• Communauté de communes du Pays de Livarot ,
• Communauté de communes du Pays de l'Orbiquet ,
• Communauté de communes de la Vallée d'Auge and
• Communauté de communes des Trois Rivières .

At the same time the Communes were nouvelles

• Belle Vie en Auge
• Méry-Bissières-en-Auge
• Mézidon-Vallée-d'Auge and
• Saint-Pierre-en-Auge

formed and thus significantly reduced the number of previously independent communities.

With effect from January 1, 2018, six municipalities of the dissolved Communauté de communes de Cambremer joined the local association. This increased the number of member communities from 48 to 54.

With effect from January 1, 2019, the previously independent municipalities of Cambremer and Saint-Laurent-du-Mont were merged to form Commune nouvelle Cambremer , which was incorporated into the association of municipalities. This reduced the number of its parishes from 54 to 53.
