The 2017 Citi Open was a tennis tournament that took place in Washington, DC from July 31 to August 6, 2017 . It was part of the ATP World Tour 2017 and was played outdoors on hard courts. In the same week were in Kitzbuehel , the Generali Open and in Los Cabos , the Abierto Mexicano Los Cabos played, unlike the Citi Open to the category ATP World Tour 500 , belonged to the lower doped category ATP World Tour 250 counted. The women’s tournament of the WTA Tour 2017 also took place in Washington .

The defending champions were Gaël Monfils in singles and Daniel Nestor and Édouard Roger-Vasselin in doubles .

The field of participants in the single competition consisted of 48 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 16 pairs. The 16 top seeded players each received a bye in the first round. The total prize pool was $ 1,750,080; total financial liabilities were $ 2,002,460.

The qualification took place on July 29th and 30th, 2017. Six qualifiers were played in singles and a pairing in doubles, which entitle them to participate in the main field.
