Location of the association of municipalities in the Occitania region

The Communauté de communes Tarn-Agout is a French community association with the legal form of a Communauté de communes in the departments of Tarn and Haute-Garonne in the Occitania region . It was founded on August 31, 2012 and includes 22 parishes. The administrative headquarters are in Saint-Sulpice-la-Pointe . The community association is named after the two rivers Tarn and Agout , its specialty lies in the cross-departmental structure of the communities.

Historical development

The community association was founded in 1994 under the name Communauté de communes Tarn et Agout . In 2012 there was a merger with the Communauté de communes du SESCAL and thus the re-establishment under the current name.

With effect from January 1, 2017, the municipality of Buzet-sur-Tarn was to change to the Communauté de communes Val'Aïgo in the Haute-Garonne department . The prefect's decree in this regard was repealed by the administrative court. A final decision is still pending.
