Location of the association of municipalities in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region

The Communauté de communes du Rouillacais is a French association of municipalities with the legal form of a Communauté de communes in the department of Charente in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . It was founded on December 31, 1992 and comprises 13 municipalities in the north-west of the department (as of January 1, 2019). The administrative headquarters are in the village of Rouillac .

Historical development

With effect from January 1, 2016, the member municipalities of Rouillac , Plaizac and Sonneville merged to form a commune nouvelle under the identical name Rouillac . Likewise, the communities of Genac and Bignac merged to form the Commune nouvelle Genac-Bignac . This reduced the number of member communities to currently 17.

With effect from January 1, 2019, the member communities Rouillac and Gourville merged to form a commune nouvelle under the identical name Rouillac . The municipalities of Auge-Saint-Médard , Anville , Bonneville and Montigné also merged to form the Commune nouvelle Val-d'Auge . This reduced the number of member communities to currently 13.
