Mons is a French municipality with 247 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Charente in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016 Poitou-Charentes ); it belongs to the arrondissement of Cognac and the canton of Val de Nouère (until 2015 Rouillac ). The inhabitants are called Montois .

Mons is about thirty kilometers north-northwest of Angoulême . Mons is surrounded by the neighboring communities
