Sauvignac is a western French community with 104 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Charente in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016 Poitou-Charentes ). The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Cognac and the canton of Charente-Sud (until 2015: Brossac ). The inhabitants are called Sauvignacais .

Sauvignac is located about 46 kilometers south-southwest of Angoulême . Sauvignac is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Vallier in the north and north-west, Yviers in the east, La Genétouze in the south and south-east, Le Fouilloux in the south-west and Boresse-et-Martron in the west and north-west.
