Le Tâtre is a western French community with 394 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Charente in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016 Poitou-Charentes ). The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement of Cognac and the canton of Charente-Sud ( Baignes-Sainte-Radegonde until 2015 ). The inhabitants are called Tatras .

Le Tâtre is about 35 kilometers west-southwest of Angoulême . Le Tâtre is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Reignac in the north, Condéon in the east, Touvérac in the south and west and Montmérac in the north-west.
