The Costa Rican U-20 national soccer team is a selection team of Costa Rican soccer players. It is subject to the Federación Costarricense de Fútbol and represents them internationally at U-20 level , for example in friendly matches against the national teams of other national associations or at the U-20 World Cup and the CONCACAF U-20 Championship .
The team achieved the best result at a world championship when they finished fourth in 2009 in Egypt .
The team became CONCACAF champions in 1988 and 2009 and won one of the two CONCACAF groups in qualifying for the World Cup in 1998 and 2001 .
