Creuse in Argenton-sur-Creuse

The Creuse is a river in France . It rises in the Massif Central , on the Plateau de Millevaches . Its source is in the municipality of Le Mas-d'Artige , at an altitude of about 810 meters. The Creuse first drains north, then turns north-west and flows into the Vienne as a right tributary after 263 kilometers at Bec des Deux Eaux , west of Port-de-Piles .

The upper reaches of the river runs through the Millevaches en Limousin Regional Nature Park , later it passes the Brenne Regional Nature Park .

The Creuse was already known in antiquity under the name Crosa .
