Döllbach is the smallest district of the municipality of Eichenzell in the eastern Hessian district of Fulda .

Geographical location

The village of Döllbach is located in the western foothills of the Rhön, east of Büchenberg at the confluence of the Thalaubach in the Döllbach . State road 3207 runs through the village. Federal roads 27 and 279 meet on the northern edge of the village . In the east, the federal motorway 7 passes Döllbach.

The Odilienborn St. Odilia

The village was first mentioned in a document in 852 as Delbach . The place name Delbach is translated as settlement on the Dela brook . Döllbach used to be a border town between Hesse and Bavaria .

On December 31, 1971, the previously independent municipality of Döllbach was incorporated into the municipality of Eichenzell.
