Location of Düpp in Viersen |
Düpp is a district of the North Rhine-Westphalian district town of Viersen . Within the Viersen urban area, Düpp is located in the east of the Alt-Viersen district , approx. 2 km northwest of the city limits to Mönchengladbach near Neuwerk-Donk . In North Rhine-Westphalia, Düpp also belongs to the Lower Rhine region and, as a district of Viersen, is also part of the Rhine-Ruhr metropolitan region . Earlier names for the area were in the Tenten , in the Diebde , in the Duybde , in the Diepten or aen der Douben . From a postal point of view, Düpp is not included in the Altviersen city center, but in the southern and eastern outer areas of Alt-Viersen and therefore has the postal code 41748.
history
Düpp is a young district. During the French period , around 1800, the area was as good as uninhabited. On older Prussian maps at the end of the 19th century only sparse settlements can be found, consisting of a few scattered single houses or farmsteads along today's street " Düpp ". The current part of the city was therefore essentially only created in the course of the 20th century , and a large part of the residential substance based on the architecture only after the Second World War .
traffic
Road traffic
The main traffic arteries of Düpp are essentially two district roads:
- In a west-east direction, coming from Robend , the Donker Weg . From the intersection with Kreisstraße 18 ( Bachstraße or Beckersweg ), Donker Weg turns west into Kreisstraße 6 , which leads to Donk .
- In the south-west-north-east direction, Kreisstraße 18 , which comes from Hamm as Bachstraße and north of the intersection with Donker Weg as Beckersweg continues towards Niers . Shortly before the Niers, the K18 ends at the L29 (" Krefelder Straße "), the former B 7 .
The " Eichenstraße " also connects Düpp with the southern Altviersen city center and the area of the Viersener train station .
Rail transport
The railway line from Duisburg to Mönchengladbach leads past the southern outskirts of Düpp. However, there is no train station here and there never was. The train stations closest to Düpp that are still in operation are now Viersen train station , Mönchengladbach central train station and Anrath train station .
In the Düpp area, a freight track branches off with the help of a hairpin from the main railway line, which here runs over an elevated railway embankment. The freight track finally leads at ground level through the Düpp area to a junkyard in neighboring Robend. The hairpin bend mentioned is a remnant of the former railway line from Viersen to Neuss , which has otherwise been closed between Viersen and Kaarst and largely dismantled.
Bus transport
As a district of Viersen, Düpp is part of the tariff area of the Rhine-Ruhr transport association . The Viersener Niederrheinwerke serve the district of Düpp with a total of two bus routes:
