Dębowiec ( German Eichhäusel ) is a place in the Gmina Prudnik in the powiat Prudnicki in the Polish Opole Voivodeship .

Geographical location
The street village Dębowiec is located in the south of the historical region of Upper Silesia . The place is about six kilometers southwest of the municipal seat and the district town Prudnik and about 56 kilometers southwest of the voivodeship capital Opole . The border with the Czech Republic runs about one kilometer south of the town.
Dębowiec lies in the Nizina Śląska (Silesian Plain) within the Płaskowyż Głubczycki (Leobschützer Loesshügelland) . The place is located in the middle of an extensive forest area with numerous oak trees. To the north-east of the village lies the mountain Kobylnica ( Heinrichshöhe ) with a height of 395 m npm. South-west of the village is the Zuckmanteler Bergland ( Góry Opawskie ).

history
The village probably originated in the 13th century. In the Middle Ages there was a castle in the area. The place was first mentioned in 1642.
After the First Silesian War in 1742 Eichhäusel came with most of Silesia to Prussia .
After the reorganization of the province of Silesia , the rural community Eichhäusel belonged to the district of Neustadt OS in the administrative district of Opole from 1816 . In 1845 there was a tavern and ten more houses in the village. In the same year, 84 people lived in Eichhäusel, 15 of them Protestants.
In the 1920s, the villages of Eichhäusel, Neudeck and Wildgrund were merged to form the rural community of Eichhäusel-Neudeck . In 1933 the community had 239 inhabitants. From April 1, 1939, Wildgrund formed its own community. The previous community merger was limited to the villages of Eichehäusel and Neudeck in the new municipality of Eichhäusel-Neudeck . In 1939, 134 people lived in the community. Until 1945 the place was in the district of Neustadt OS
In 1945 the formerly German town of Eichhäusel came under Polish administration and was renamed Dębowiec and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950 the place came to the Opole Voivodeship . In 1999 the place came to the powiat Prudnicki .
